- FactCheck.org – FactCheck.org is a non-profit and non-partisan web site that aims to reduce the deception present in politics. In an election year, this web site is even more important as both parties will be spewing out a lot of “facts” and most voters will take them at face value. Take time at least once a week to check this site.
- Snopes.com – Snopes.com is home to the Urban Legends Reference Pages. Everyone has received the emails about Neiman Marcus cookie recipes (fake), Target not supporting veterans (false), and others. If you receive an email like that, PLEASE take time to check out Snopes.com, it contains almost every chain letter ever created, along with an excellent analysis the facts of the story. Take a peek, it is fun and informative.
